About Us

United Way of South Central Missouri

United Way of South Central Missouri (UWSCM) helps improve lives and create lasting community change in partnership with local organizations. We do this by funding 20 member agencies that get to the heart of our community problems.

UWSCM brings together people from all across the community - people from government, business, faith groups, nonprofits and ordinary citizens to focus on the critical issues we all face. UWSCM cares about getting results that no one organization can accomplish alone.

United Way of South Central Missouri needs contributions from across the community to make things work. Each year South Central Missouri companies and organizations hold campaigns to allow their employees an opportunity to make an investment in their community. Virtually every family in South Central Missouri is touched by the United Way in their lifetime, it is no wonder that individuals are donating. They are showing that they are willing to invest in their families, friends, and neighbors. These contributions go to work bringing lasting change in South Central Missouri.

Annual contributions are truly an investment in South Central Missouri. United Way funds 20 agencies and their programs and services in South Central Missouri. These programs are funded through a well-organized allocation process used by our 26 member board of directors. Each agency funded is a volunteer ran, tax-exempt, not for profit organization that meets current human needs in South Central Missouri.
